NEW 8" STAINLESS XL BOREMASTER KIT

What is a control bore?

The control bore is the part of the barrel that is reduced or increased in size by the user to fit or “bore match” the paintball barrel to the paintballs being used. Because these bores can be quickly swapped and easily stored, the Freak XL offers one of the easiest to use, and most complete interchangeable bore system on the market.

Why would you want a longer control bore?

The original five inch insert Freak system has won countless tournaments, and is one of the most popular barrels in the history of paintball. Paintball players love the original Freak System – but always pushed us to produce a version with an eight inch control bore. So after some careful research and engineering the Freak XL was born.

The longer control bore keeps the air behind the ball for a longer period of time – and as a result can transfer more of its energy to the paintball before being dispersed. This means that you get more out of every PSI you send down the barrel which results in greater effciency, reduced sound signature, and lower operating pressure required by the marker – just by switching to the Freak XL barrel.

Fast front to back threading – Because the Freak XL is its own system, we where able to utilize a course thread between the barrel front and barrel back. This threading makes taking the barrel apart or putting it together faster then ever. The courser thread is also easier to keep clean, and is tougher to cross thread if you do make a mistake with alignment.

Packed with options right from the start, the complete eight color coded Freak® XL inserts (.679, .682, .684, .687, .689, .691, .693, and .695) or Freak® XL front in a durable Freak® XL zip-side case.

Perfect protection for the Freak® XL, this textile sided case is rigid enough to protect a Freak® XL back, front, and inserts while compact enough to stash easily in a gear bag. An internal securement system locks down each component to keep it in place for a safe trip to the field whether it is across town or around the world. Also sold separately.

What is bore-matching?

Bore-matching is the practice of matching the outer diameter of your paintballs to the inner diameter of your paintball barrel bore. The diameter of a paintball can change from batch to batch, day to day, or even hour by hour depending on environmental conditions, so it is important to have a barrel that can change quickly and easily with your paint. No other barrel system is as quick and easy to bore match as the Full Freak System.

How to bore-match:

Using the paint you plan to play with for the day, insert one of your paintballs into the base of the insert.

If you have to blow very hard to push the ball through the barrel, you need a larger insert.

If the ball rolls out without blowing at all or too easily, you need to use a smaller insert.

You should be able to easily blow the ball through the barrel with minimal effort, like a blow gun.

Repeat this process with several paintballs to find an average size that works for your paint. Depending on weather conditions, you will want to repeat this process one or twice per day to insure optimum performance.
